FUNCTION/DESIGN An upright vacuum cleaner is a popular choice for general carpet cleaning. Easier to store than conventional tub vacs. An upright vacuum cleaner has a brush agitator which is known as the roller brush and is found underneath the machine. It rotates when the machine is switched on, dislodging dirt, dust and grit from the carpet to enable it to be easily picked up. Some models of upright vacuums have a switch to turn the agitator off when vacuuming hard floors. On some models of upright vacuums a hepa filter can be fitted for healthcare environments or a carbon active cartridge which can remove offensive odours.
USAGE AREA A vacuum cleaner can be used on hard and carpeted floors. Upright machines vary in head size, in order to meet the requirement of the particular environment. Give greater coverage than tub vacs. An upright vacuum cleaner can be used in the following environments: private households, indoor sports courts, offices, waiting rooms, reception areas, nursing homes, care homes, hotels, restaurants, airports, public houses, nightclubs, retail outlets, department stores, schools, colleges, universities, cafes, community centres, ideal for contract cleaners.
GENERAL INFORMATION All upright vacs are mains operated.
