High Pressure Washers

High pressure washers are used for cleaning equipment, vehicles and all types of washable surfaces.  The sectors in which high pressure washers are used range from industrial to agriculture, construction, marine, machine shop, car wash, cleaning services and trucking applications.

We supply two main ranges of pressure washers Demon & Eagle:

Demon Pressure Washers                      Eagle Pressure Washers

Hot pressure washers need to be used when thorough cleaning off of grease, oils or fats is needed.  Cold pressure washers will make an impact on soiling of this kind, but chemicals will be needed and will need to be used at a higher concentrate.  If the soiling is of a particularly greasy or dirty nature then a hot pressure washer is recommended.

Performance of a pressure washer is measured in pressure and flow,  with both being of equal importance.  It is also important to ensure that you choose the right pressure washer for your application and that the machine you choose is the best choice financially.  For example it must first be decided the regularity of use of the machine; if the pressure washer costs £70 and works for 40 hours, it has cost you £1.75 an hour, where as a machine that costs you £280 and works for 2000 hours costs you 14p per hour.

The range of pressure washers available:

Hobby machines: these are the cheapest pressure washers on the market and can be determined by the use of aluminium cylinder heads, high speed motors and stainless steel pistons. They are designed as limited life machines which should only be used on a 60% duty cycle. Hoses and lances are all plastic and not very durable.

Commercial machines: the next level up from hobby machines, they are better constructed with more features. Beware, some are high speed motors and have some still have aluminium cylinder heads. Commercial machines can be 2800rpm or 1450rpm. 2800rpm are 60% duty cycle and 1450rpm are 100% duty cycle. Petrol and diesel powered machines tend to have pumps running at 3000rpm or 3600rpm and are better than hobby class pressure washers.

Professional machines: this level is aimed at professional users who want machines to work reliably day after day. All professional pressure washers have 1450rpm pumps and motors, they will all have brass cylinder heads and the hose and gun will be steel reinforced. All 1450rpm pumps are designed to be self priming nad will draw their own water if fitted with a suitable filter. Petrol and diesel powered machines will all have an intermediate reduction gearbox which allows the engine to rev to 2900rpm but the pump still revs at 1450rpm.

FUNCTION/DESIGN
A pressure washer in its most basic form consists of a pump and a motor. The motor drives the pump thereby applying pressure on the water. This pressure on the water will cause very high water speed and which is utilised during the cleaning. The effect of this is very similar to pinching the garden hose only far more efficient. The pump provides a constant volume of water while the pressure depends on the size of the nozzle attached to the end of the lance.

Cold water pressure washers are pressure cleaners with the water temperature almost identical to the water inlet temperature. In case of water cooled engines slight heating of the high pressure water will however take place.

USAGE AREA
Cold water pressure washers are used in; agriculture, within the automobile indutsry ,transportation, warehousing, haulage, in the building and construction sector and in a great number of other fields where soils can be removed by cold water. Fats and oils are often treated but not dominating to such a degree as to call for hot water.
Other applications may be; conservatories, patios, pathways, paving, vehicles, PVCU windows, building fascias, roofs, guttering, car parks, childrens play areas, educational institutions, construction industries, manufacturing and food industries.

GENERAL INFORMATION
All pressure washers are mains operated or engine driven..
