FUNCTION/DESIGN A pressure washer in it’s most basic form consists of a pump and a motor. The motor drives the pump thereby applying pressure on the water. This pressure on the water will cause very high water speed, which is utilised during the cleaning. The effect of this is very similar to twisting/folding the garden hose only far more efficient. The pump provides a constant volume of water while the pressure depends on the size of the nozzle attached to the end of the lance.
In principle a hot water cleaner could be described as a cold water cleaner with an added boiler to heat the water. Heating takes place in the coil of the boiler, but prior to heating the inlet water has past the float chamber on its way to the high pressure pump. From the pump the water is pumped via the boiler coil onto the lance. This construction will ensure the high pressure pump is always running with cold water, resulting in the lowest possible load on the pump. By and large hot water cleaners are operating with the same pressure and water amounts as corresponding cold water cleaners. The dominating difference is in the water temperature, with the possibility of stepless adjustment up to 100 degress celcius. Detergents can be added through internal or external injectors. In a hot water cleaner the internal injector is placed before the high pressure pump, permitting adding of detergent during high pressure as well as low pressure cleaning. Thereby the adding of detergent can take place during high pressure cleaning. Hot water cleaners are appropriate for cleaning jobs where fat, oil and other kinds of sparingly water-soluble soil are predominant. Especially jobs within the food industries or in contracting etc., where cleaning problems can advantageously cope with means of hot water cleaners.
USAGE AREA Hot water pressure washers are used in; agriculture, within the automobile, transportation, warehousing, haulage, in the building and construction sector and in a great number of other fields where soils can’t be removed by cold water. Other applications may be; vehicles, vans, cars, caravans, boats, food, curtain sided-lorries, service areas, industrial plants, breweries, bus/coach companies, dairies, distilleries, abattoirs, diesel spills, animal fats and oils, yard areas, factories, metal working, stoneworks, bakeries, engine cleaning, train cleaning etc.
GENERAL INFORMATION Pressure washers are mains operated or engine driven.
