Scrubber Dryer Maintenance

Lets be real, if you expect your scrubber dryer to consistently deliver optimum cleaning results, you’re going to need to look after it. Like any other relationship, there’s give and take… even with your scrubber dryer. This means simple scrubber dryer maintenance.

If you’re new here, HELLO! So you’re in the loop, a scrubber dryer is a cleaning machine that wet scrubs and dries hard floors in a single pass… some call it magic, but we’ll let you decide. These machines come in all different shapes and sizes to suit almost every imaginable cleaning requirement. They make floor cleaning much quicker, easier, and more efficient in every way. Capiche?

In order to keep your scrubber dryer happy and healthy, it’s a good idea to have a servicing package to ensure any wear and tear is repaired early before it has the chance to put stress on your machine and potentially cause more damage. We have a team of service engineers across the country who will take care of everything for you! But in between service visits, there are some things you can do to keep your machine producing the best results for your facility…

Daily maintenance:

  1. Clean out tanks…

Cleaning out your scrubber dryers’ tanks after each use will maintain optimal hygiene, prevent excessive bacteria growth and keep your machine in tip top condition.

  1. Clean squeegee rubbers

It’s important to clean you squeegee rubbers after each use as they vacuum the dirty water so will likely have remaining dirt inside – best to keep them clean!

  1. Check filters…

Filters can become clogged which prevents your machine from delivering its best performance. Thankfully it’s an easy job, just remove the filter and dispose of any waste.

  1. Check hoses for splits…

Splits can sometimes be hard to find so ensure you’re aware of the machine whilst operating. Keep an eye on hoses and tubes to spot any splits before it becomes hazardous.

Weekly maintenance:

  1. Check squeegees for wear…

Each week observe your squeegee rubbers for wear. Once the working edge becomes blunt its best to flip the squeegee (each rubber can be flipped 4 times).

  1. Check brush wear weekly…

As you use your machine, the bristles become worn and will need replacing to prevent the machine from damaging your floor. Usually there’s a brush-wear indicator which is a brightly coloured cluster of shorter bristles. Once the standard bristles align with the brush wear indicator, it needs replacing. If there isn’t a brush wear indicator, place your thumb sideways against the brush head and bristles for measure.
